Music Department to host Orchestra Concerto Competition Concert

The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will hold its Orchestra Concerto Competition Concert on Thursday, May 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Thorpe Langley Auditorium.

The first half will feature UWS Concerto Competition winners Isaac Hanson, vibraphone, performing “Concerto for Vibraphone and String Orchestra” by Emmanuel Séjourné; Riley Hinnenkamp, baritone, performing “See the Raising Flames Arise (from Joshua)” by George Frideric Handel; and Emma Jones, flute, performing “Poem for Flute and Orchestra” by Charles Griffes.

The concert will conclude with the UWS Orchestra performing Joseph Haydn’s “Farewell” Symphony.

Tickets are $5 for adults and free for students. Thorpe Langley Auditorium is in Old Main at 1710 Weeks Ave.
