About UW-Superior

About UW-Superior

As Wisconsin's Leading Public Liberal Arts College, we foster intellectual growth among our students while preparing them for careers that exist today and those that will be created in the future. Since our founding in 1893, we have developed an atmosphere that emphasizes individual attention for each student while stressing respect for all cultures and voices.

At UW-Superior, students benefit from our comfortable campus where small classes are taught by professors who take time to learn students' names and understand their needs. We offer more than 30 undergraduate majors -- solid academic programs such as accounting, teacher education and biology, and innovative programs such as legal studies, art therapy, and transportation and logistics management. Our respected Graduate Studies program offers advanced degrees in teacher education and administration, counseling, visual arts and communicating arts.

We also believe strongly in learning outside the classroom. Students might work with a professor on a research project, hold an internship in the community, help others through our student volunteer group, or spend a semester studying abroad. And those are just a few examples.

For nontraditional students, UW-Superior opens the door to learning through options such as our Distance Learning program and the Center for Continuing Education/Extension.

To strengthen UW-Superior for the future, the UW-Superior Foundation has begun Campaign Superior: Higher Expectations, a comprehensive plan to ensure the university provides the facilities, programs and support needed for students to become active learners and engaged citizens for the 21st century. Please visit the Campaign Superior website to learn more.

We hope you will join us by becoming part of UW-Superior's liberal arts tradition.
