All undergraduate majors will have in place a required "Senior Year Experience" activity. The Senior Year Experience activity will ask each student to engage in a significant piece of scholarly or creative work.

2007-2008

• Governance discussion of development, piloting and approval of departmental Senior Year Experience requirements 

2008-2009

• Development of purpose and criteria for Senior Year Experiences

• Senior Experience proposals prepared by all departments

• Undergraduate Academic Affairs Council approved proposals as meeting criteria

• Senior Year Experience presentations for spring graduates implemented by all departments
  

2009-2010

• Senior Year Experience presentations for winter graduates implemented by all departments
  

• Assessments for SYE projects/presentations designed and implemented

2010-2011

•  Senior Year Experience presentations held at conclusion of winter and spring semesters

• Assessments of SYE presentations collected from all departments and summarized

• Senior capstone and presentation included as Corequisite General Education requirement in catalog

2011-2012

• SYE presentations become institutionalized as all departments participate, celebrate and plan ahead

• Community members and families invited by some departments to share in SYE presentations

• SYE presentations advertised to campus and local communities
