What Types of Internships are Available to HHP Exercise Science Majors?

The Health & Human Performance Department, through its Field Experience Director, offers direction to students wishing to arrange an internship or field experience in the community.  The Field Experience Director will work directly with an internship site to establish a specialized program of study.  Students also have the option to design their internship program of study to match interest and career goals.  Students are advised to research an internship site in detail prior to applying to the HHP field experiences office.

HHP students have previously served as interns at:

• Health and Fitness Centers (Cooper Institute, Duluth YMCA)
• Physical and Occupational Therapy Clinics
• Personal Trainer Organizations
• Cardiac Rehabilitation Clinics (SMDC, St. Luke's Hospital)
• Hospitals
