I. Gogebic Community College, Ironwood, Michigan, is an independent campus in the Michigan State System. Gogebic Community College has full accreditation with the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. In the interest of fostering cooperation between our institutions, to better serve the transfer of students from Gogebic Community College to the University of Wisconsin-Superior, hereby enter into this articulation agreement. 9;
II.The following articles delineate the understanding between Gogebic Community College and the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
A. Students will be encouraged to complete the Associate of Arts degree at Gogebic Community College which will fulfill the UW-Superior lower division general education requirements as long as campus specific stipulations are met. Those stipulations are expressed in terms of the UW-Superior 1996-98 catalog and the respective Gogebic Community College catalog.
1.Completion of English 101 and 102 at Gogebic Community College which is equivalent to UW-Superior’s English 101 and 102. (If the student will be seeking Teacher certification, a grade of C or better is required).
2. Completion of Math 110 or a higher level math course at Gogebic Community College which is equivalent to UW-Superior’s Math 104.
3.Completion of Speech 101 at Gogebic Community College which is equivalent to UW-Superior’s Communication Arts 110. (If the student will be seeking teacher certification, a grade of C or better is required.)
4.The general agreement refers to all Associate of Arts degrees except non-college parallel technical programs.
