Assessment is an essential aspect of teaching and learning.  Inquiry, research, discovery, reflection, and action about student learning are critical to the improvement of students' educational experience.

Assessment of student learning also provides important evidence for the institutional accountability.  Our accreditation agency, the Higher Learning Commission, requires documentation of the processes, results, reflections, and uses of student learning outcome assessment.
