Advisor/Student Roles and Responsibilities

  • The advisors' basic responsibilities include: helping students set academic goals, understand degree requirements, select courses, and determine career expectations.
  • Student responsibilities include: reading the catalog carefully, becoming familiar with their degree programs and its requirements; seeking out answers to their questions; developing self-awareness; following through on advisor recommendations; and accepting ultimate responsibility for their decisions.
