At UW-Superior we recognize the importance of the family's role in a student's college experience! We feel honored that your student has decided to become a part of the UW-Superior community!

As your student transitions to college you may find him/her (and the whole family) going through a range of emotions. We believe that family support is crucial and may have a major impact on a student's ability and motivation to succeed.

Many of our students are "first generation" college students. (This simply means that their parents or guardians have never had the opportunity to experience campus life before.) Also, many students have parents that went to college many years ago. Therefore, the academic programs and expectations may be new and/or very different. In addition, the residence halls, the dining programs, the support services, and even our university "language" may be unfamiliar to family members.

This website is designed to give you information and resources which might be helpful to you and your student as they transition into college life.
