UW-Superior has an institutional accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and has since 1916.
Everyone has a role in our accreditation process:
In what you do everyday to fulfill our mission
In ensuring a quality academic experience to our students
In helping locate evidence, provide feedback and by participating in our self-study process and site visit
UW-Superior joined COPLAC (the Council of Liberal Arts Colleges) in 2001.
Accreditation is a two-step process which will examine every aspect of what we do, what we are, and what we want to be.
The site visit is scheduled for March 4-6, 2013.
Accreditation does not just reflect on what we've done in the past but also looks to creating our future.
We provide our students with six high-impact practices:
Academic Service Learning
First Year Experience - First Year Seminars
Global Awareness
Senior Experience
Undergraduate Research
Writing Across the Curriculum
Learning outcomes and assessment plans are in place for most curricular and some co-curricular programs.
Four research centers and institutes contribute to the University's public mission.
UW-Superior has a strong history of student, faculty and staff governance.
Several of our programs are also externally accredited or certified by professional organizations.
Educational Leadership, Social Work, Transportation and Logistics, Music, and Chemistry
