POSITION :

Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for a Tenure-Track position in Mathematics at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science consists of seven full-time faculty and more than 100 undergraduate students seeking majors in Mathematics, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Computer Science along with minors in those disciplines and Information Technology. DUTIES:

  • Teaching undergraduate classes as assigned by the department chair
  • Engaging in scholarly activities
  • Maintaining an active research agenda
  • Serving on departmental and university-wide committees
  • Advising undergraduates

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Earned Doctorate in Mathematics or Mathematics Education by August 2013
  • University-level teaching experience
  • Evidence of potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching
  • Evidence of active research

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE :

  • Experience in university-level curriculum development
  • Research activity in discrete mathematics, algebra, or related fields
  • Coursework or professional experience in software development, computer programming, or theoretical computer science

SALARY:

UW-Superior offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance coverage for domestic partners and their eligible dependents.
