Superior Outdoor Adventure Program

Visit the Health & Wellness Center Information Desk to get membership information for the Superior Outdoor Adventure Program and to sign up for upcoming outdoor adventures! Or visit the SOAP Office in the Health & Wellness Center, room 1440. For more information visit the SOAP website or contact Joel Peterson.

Become a SOAP member. Annual membership: $30 students; $40 faculty or staff. Benefits include reduced rates for ALL SOAP-sponsored events, free use of ALL SOAP equipment, discounts at local businesses on clothing, gear, etc., and much more.

Fall 2008


October --(Updated 10-7)

11 -  Canoe the Brule;  9 am;  $10 for SOAP members. Sign up by Oct. 9

16 –  Full Moon Paddle;  4:30 pm;  $10 for SOAP members

17-19 –  Climbing at Taylors Falls (or possibly camping and canoeing. Check with SOAP for updates);  4 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Sunday


November 

6 –  Hike the Superior Hiking Trail;  5:30 p.m.;  Free

(More trips are offered throughout winter. Dates and times are dependent on weather. If you are looking for trips not offered on this schedule, please contact SOAP and we will try to make accommodations!)

24 – Kayaking In the HWC Pool; 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Thursday


February

7 – Ice Climbing

14 – Snowshoe to the Cornucopia Ice Caves

27-March 1 – Ski trip to Michigan's Upper Peninsula 

March

14-22 – Backpacking in the Grand Canyon (Spring Break Trip) 

April

25 – Kayaking the Brule River

 

May

2 – Whitewater rafting

9 – Kayaking Basic Strokes and Rescue
