Campus Safety Office - General Information

 Location:
The Campus Safety Office is located in the lower level of the Rothwell Student Center in Room 53.

Hours:
Normal office hours are weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Telephone:
Security officers can always be contacted by calling 394-8114.

For police, fire, medical, or other emergencies, CALL 911.

Staff:
The Campus Safety Office consists of one Police Officer/Director, one full-time police officer, and five full-time Security Officers who provide complete law enforcement and safety services to the campus. Our police and security personnel are authorized to enforce all Wisconsin Statutes and Chapter 18 Rules of the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System. Ongoing training is provided and encouraged for all of our officers.

Goals:
The primary goal of the Campus Safety Office is to serve and protect University of Wisconsin-Superior students, employees and visitors. The UW-Superior campus can be considered a community within a community because it consists of 200 acres in the center of the City of Superior. A large part of our responsibility is to provide building security. We conduct walking and vehicle patrols of the campus on a 24-hour basis, with all buildings being randomly patrolled on a continuous basis. We also provide a number of other services to students, employees and visitors.

Services we provide include:

  • Admittance with an after-hours pass into labs and other rooms.
  • Escorts from building to building, or to and from your car.
  • Unlocking your car door if you lock your keys in your vehicle. ($20 service charge, if successful)
  • Transportation to St .Mary's Hospital of Superior Emergency Room for people with non-critical injuries or illnesses.
  • Booster Pack for security officers to use to start stalled vehicles. ($20 service charge, if successful)

Operation Identification:

  • Engraver available for marking identification numbers on your personal equipment.
  • Digital camera available for officer use to document your belongings.
  • Property inventory sheets available to document your belongings.

Bicycle Registration:

  • A digital photograph of your bicycle on file.
  • Data base with bicycle information on file.
  • A Bicycle Registration Sticker for your bicycle.
  • Free for Dorm Residents and $5.00 fee for others.

Security Services:

Security Officers at $40.00 per hour
