Winterfest is a large-scale community event that wouldn't be possible without donations and sponsorship from the local business community; event sponsorship from
UW-Superior student organizations and campus departments; and volunteer hours from UW-Superior faculty, staff, and students.

Community Projects

Winterfest was also a chance to reach out to the community.  The following community members/organizations deserve recognition:

  • Junior League LogoThe Junior League of Duluth was responsible for collecting books to start the Little Blue Bookshelf program in Superior.  The Little Blue Bookshelf project places blue bookshelves stocked with gently-used or new books appropriate for children in the community where families with young children visit. Children are invited to take a book home to keep and share!

  • Field Logic Signs & Graphics: Printed all event signage
  •  
  • A'Viands: Provided catering and foodservice
  • School District of Superior: Distributed fliers advertising Winterfest

  • Superior High School Leadership Team: Distributed fliers advertising Winterfest

  • The Chamber/BID: Secured sponsorship, assisted in planning and organizing, volunteered
  • Spartan Singers: Performed at Winterfest

  • Sterling Silver Dancers: Performed at Winterfest; provided cotton candy

Student Organizations & Campus Departments

Winterfest couldn't happen without volunteers from our campus community.  Winterfest ran smoothly from planning to setup to cleanup because of these volunteer departments and organizations.
