The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will present “Greg Kehl Moore & Friends,” on Tuesday, January 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Manion Theater as part of its University Recital Series.
This eclectic recital will feature solo works and chamber ensembles of varying genres from the renaissance to modern jazz classics. Performing with Moore, professor of music and jazz program director, will be Melanie Sever, Alex Sandor, Randy Lee, Dylan Reed-Fuglestad, Zoë Scherer, Ryan Loeken, Tim Stratioti, Bob Boman, Mark Glen, Ryan Frane and Ian Hopp.
The first half of the recital will feature pieces by Ravel & Telemann along with three Renaissance pieces for saxophone quartet arranged by Moore and his original composition for saxophone quartet and percussion.
The second half will be the jazz portion of the recital featuring Moore’s new arrangement of “King Porter Stomp” and his original composition “Dreamer,” along with pieces by Steely Dan, Charles Mingus and George Gershwin.
For Moore this will be his last faculty recital at UW-Superior as he is set to retire this summer.
