What You’ll Learn

The bachelor of arts in music performance degree at UW-Superior provides students the opportunity to grow as a musician and perform at their highest level. In addition to studying in their major performance area, students will learn secondary instruments and receive instruction in music technology, conducting, and pedagogy.

As a music performance major at UW-Superior, you will:

  • Perform a wide variety of music in large musical ensembles, chamber ensembles, and solo settings.
  • Receive extensive and world-class individualized instruction in their major performance area, culminating in two solo recitals.
  • Understand the theoretical, historical, and cultural foundations of music and apply that knowledge to enhance their musical performance.

My experience as a Viola Performance Major at UWS has been wonderful. I’ve cultivated long-lasting friendships, found a love for my instrument, and discovered a caring music family within the department. My professors and applied teacher, Dr. Aldridge, have been amazing mentors who have taught me what a blessing music brings to people’s lives. I hope potential music students recognize the life-changing opportunity UW-Superior offers with its exceptional professors and resources.
