Synchronous Training on Zoom

In this one-hour synchronous workshop, instructors will learn how to design accessible Canvas courses that meet the new ADA Title II regulations that impact anyone teaching in Canvas. Participants will have time to discover accessibility barriers in their own courses and start to fix them with the support of the facilitator. No RSVP is necessary.

Please use the following Zoom room to access the synchronous training:

  • Meeting ID: 941 9892 9558

  • Passcode: 865943

Summer Schedule

Can’t make it? This virtual training will be offered once each month in 2025. Here is the remaining summer schedule:

  • Tuesday, June 17th, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
  • Wednesday, July 16th, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 14th, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

In-Person Accessibility Training

Attend this three-hour workshop to learn how to design accessible course content that meets the new Title II regulations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) announced during Welcome Week. These regulations apply to anyone teaching in Canvas. Participants will identify and remove any accessibility barriers in a Spring or Fall 2026 course with the support of the facilitator. Instructors of both in-person and online courses are encouraged to attend.

This workshop will be offered three more times this summer in JDH Library Room 231:

  • Tuesday, June 3rd, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 8th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 5th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

More information and a full schedule can be found here. There is a 15-person capacity for each workshop. To RSVP, please complete this online form.

Asynchronous Training Opportunity

This synchronous session will not have time to cover accessibility in-depth. The Canvas Team recommends all instructors complete the “Digital Accessibility Training for Instructors” course in Canvas, a two- to three-hour asynchronous, self-paced training that will teach you how to create and maintain accessible digital content in Canvas. This will help instructors ensure their courses comply with the ADA Title II digital accessibility requirements by April 2026.

Self-enrollment for the Digital Accessibility Training for Instructors is now open.
