
The Art of Paying Attention: Mindfulness Through Art and the Outdoors
This session is a highly interactive, experiential practice of mindfulness using both art-making and the outdoors. It is designed to help nourish your own personal mindfulness practice as well as spark your own unique creative voice.
Whether you have a formal mindfulness practice or not – and whether you have recent art-making experience or not – this session will support you in your journey.
Participants will engage in multiple activities, each intentionally chosen to build upon one another:
1) Intro and art warm-ups – play is the entry to creativity!
2) Mindful time outdoors – engaging our senses, noticing what catches our attention
3) Art-making back indoors – individuals will have choices of materials and will receive guidance to create something about the outdoors or another experience. Bonus – we will already have learned some art skills and techniques in #1!
