Overview
The international business program is one of the five concentration options for the business administration major. It is an excellent choice for students interested in careers with companies and organizations that operate in multiple countries. Coursework is designed to help you understand how business is done in different cultures and areas of the world. It is an excellent choice for students interested in careers with companies and organizations that operate at a global level.
Our curriculum has been developed by experienced faculty and in consultation with an advisory council composed of local business leaders who share their expertise and connections to identify and secure opportunities for students.
Some students also choose to enhance their education by studying abroad for a semester through our Study Away program.
What You’ll Learn
Topics include communication styles, local customs, politics, and economic environments. Students may also choose from a wider array of interdepartmental courses to fulfill the global awareness coursework requirements, as well as a foreign language requirement. You’ll also learn about practical international business skills, including:
- Exchange rates
- Taxes and duties
- Exporting and importing
- International shipping and documentation
- International supply chains
- Investment in other countires
- Marketing localization
