TYPE

The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will present its Symphonic Band Concert on Thursday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Thorpe Langley Auditorium.

“The Symphonic Band will perform works which are either staples in the band literature or by composers who have written many band standards,” said Steven Siegel, UW-Superior director of bands and trumpet.

Works being performed will include “Emperata Overture,” by Claude T. Smith, “National Emblem,” by Bagley/Fennell, “Shenandoah,” by Frank Ticheli, “Midnight Ride,” by Rossano Galante and “Russian Christmas Music” by Alfred Reed. Additionally, Beth Bungartz and Logan Erickson will be featured on “Aria” by Eugene Bozza.

“The concert will take the audience on a musical journey featuring works old and new,” said Siegel. “It will be a great opportunity for families to hear a passionate performance and for college students to take a study break as they get ready for finals.”

Tickets are $5 for adults and free for students. Thorpe Langley Auditorium is in Old Main, 1710 Weeks Ave.
