The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will present guitarist and senior lecturer Jacob Jonker on Tuesday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Webb Recital Hall as part of its University Recital Series.

A solo classical guitar recital, the evening will include Spanish and South American guitar music from the late 19^th and 20^th Centuries. The music of Francisco Tárrega, Federico Moreno Torroba, Agustín Barrios and Jose Luis Merlin will be featured.

Jonker holds a master’s degree in classical guitar performance from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and a bachelor’s from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

A former Schubert Club and Thursday Musical Prize winner, Jonker has performed as a featured local artist for the Minnesota Guitar Society. He has also performed with the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra, Duluth Playhouse, Twin Ports Choral Project, Lyric Opera of the North, Lake Superior Youth Chorus and many other ensembles ranging from youth to professional.
