DUTIES:
The Disability Services Advisor provides management and daily coordination and implementation of Disability Support Services. The Disability Services Advisor is an active partner on campus and in the Educational Success Center and is expected to engage in problem identification and solution implementation in service to students registered with Disability Support Services. In addition, they facilitate the provision of reasonable accommodations for populations with disabilities to ensure equal access to the programs, services, and activities of the institution. Recommends and facilitates reasonable accommodations for populations with disabilities to ensure access to the physical, educational, and social activities of the institution. Additionally, they will be available to support regular Educational Success Center operations as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree from an accredited institution in education, counseling, student personnel, or a related area
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience working with underrepresented, underserved, or minoritized students.
- Prior experience working with traditional and nontraditional students in-person and online students.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in education, counseling, student personnel, or a related area.
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or other compliance work.
- Prior experience working with web-based student management and intervention systems.
- Prior experience with digital accessibility
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of, and experience with, the barriers, challenges, and needs of nontraditional, minoritized, low-income, first-generation, and students with disabilities.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
- Comfort with and ability to learn a variety of technology tools and platforms, both web and computer based.
- Ability to partner with various departments for common initiatives and projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical judgment skills, decision-making skills, and problem-solving attitude.
- Knowledge of federal and state ADA regulations and their application in a university setting.
- Knowledge of disability rights, responsibilities, and requirements.
- Ability to work with and commit to serving the needs of nontraditional, minority, and disadvantaged students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Ability to read and understand various standardized test evaluations and medical reports.
