UW-Superior to celebrate first-generation students

The University of Wisconsin-Superior will hold a celebration for first-generation students on Thursday, November 2, from 3 to 5 p.m. in Swenson Hall.

The event, which is presented by UW-Superior’s TRIO programs, will highlight students, faculty and staff that are the first in their family to attend college. Nearly half of UW-Superior students are the first in their families to attend college.

The celebration begins in the Swenson Hall Atrium with a reception at 3 p.m. followed by a first-generation group photo at 3:30 p.m.

Events will then move to Swenson Hall’s Erlenbach Lecture Hall at 4 p.m. for presentations.

Before the celebration concludes, TRIO McNair and TRIO Student Support Services students will share their personal experiences with Upward Bound students, beginning at 4:30 p.m. in Erlenbach Lecture Hall.
