Exhibit Description:

A photographer, ceramicist, and a sculptor walk into a bar… no, it’s not a joke, it’s an exhibition! Three former UWS colleagues are collaborating on an art exhibition opening in the Kruk Gallery this fall. Photographer Kim Borst retired from UWS in 2019 but has been actively maintaining an artistic practice that includes the cultivation of exquisite tomatoes. He’ll return to UWS this fall with new work on view in the Kruk gallery alongside current UWS professors, Mike Maguire and Timothy Cleary. Maguire is a ceramic artist and current department chair who makes cool stuff with clay (only he doesn’t use the word ‘stuff’). Cleary is a sculptor who has done a lot of commissioned statues of important people in the world, none of which will be on view in the gallery. The three artists are showing their work together for the first time as a group and the pathos and dark humor they all share will be sure to resonate with the general public.
