DESCRIPTION:Time: 1 – 3 p.m. \nLocation: Superior Public Library – Community Room\, 1530 Tower Ave\, Superior\, WI \nJoin us to learn about Asahi from Nordic Head Trainer\, Margaret Vainio. Originating from Finland\, Asahi is a versatile health exercise suitable for all ages and fitness levels\, incorporates gentle movements with slow breathing and can be done seated or standing. \nASAHI Nordic Head Trainer Margaret Vainio comes from Finland. She is a graduate of Northern Michigan University\, former choir director and the first woman to become trained to teach all levels of ASAHI and to train instructors. She now travels the world sharing the practice of ASAHI and all of its benefits with others. \nWear comfortable clothing. No experience is necessary. RSVP is not required. \nThis activity is organized by LiveWell\, an initiative of the UW-Superior’s Pruitt Center for Mindfulness and Well-Being.

DESCRIPTION:Bridging the Divide – Student-to-Student Civil Discourse Conversation  \nJackets Vote\, a program of the Link Center\, is pleased to support this year’s Bridging the Divide Campus Leader at UW-Superior\, Oreoluwa Sofolahan.  \nOre and Jackets Vote are inviting UWS students to attend student-led civil discourse events called “Bridging the Divide.” \nBridging the Divide\, a new program of the Tommy G. Thompson Center on Public Leadership\, seeks to reduce partisan division by fostering civil discourse among students and promoting civic virtue. The program brings students with different ideological and partisan political perspectives together for small-group conversations about current political issues and beliefs. This free activity provides all supplies and welcomes natural materials from home\, such as bark\, feathers\, pine cones\, etc. \nThis is a great activity for older teens and adults. Any youth need to be accompanied by parent/guardian.
