Credit for Prior Learning (also known as Prior Learning Assessment) offers students with significant life and work experience the chance to earn college credit by demonstrating what they have learned. 

UW-Superior offers four pathways to Credit for Prior Learning (CPL):

• Standardized tests such as CLEP and DANTES administered through
  Student Support Services
  
  
• Military/ACE credits processed through the Registrar's Office
  
  
• Challenge exams offered variously across academic departments
  
  
• IDS 289: Prior Learning Portfolio Development course
