About

Reed studied plant biology, geology and modern cartography at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with additional minors in both Earth Science and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). During his time as an undergraduate, Reed held positions at the Donald Davidson Herbarium and in the Earth Science Collection. Reed started with the Lake Superior Research Institute (LSRI) as a student conducting floristic quality assessment surveys in Northern Wisconsin wetlands.  

Research Interests

Reed’s research interests include Great Lakes regional plant taxonomy, vegetative community monitoring, chronological vegetation shifts, mapping/database systems, rare and endangered plant monitoring, herbarium specimen collecting, and native/exotic plant cultivation.
