Dr. Karen Salvador, Associate Professor and Chair of Music Education at Michigan State University’s College of Music, will present Opening the Door to Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy.

This engaging session will explore how to connect home, school, and community through music. Dr. Salvador will share practical strategies for sustaining student cultures in schools, researching musical materials and practices, and identifying community cultural assets for meaningful collaborations. Be prepared to sing, move, and learn!
