Program Overview

The Childcare Studies certificate is a two-course program designed for current or aspiring childcare center employees. This program provides foundational knowledge and practical skills to support young children in high-quality childcare settings.

Courses included:

• ECED 252 – Foundations of Early Childhood
• ECED 353 – Inclusive Practices for Young Children

Upon completion, students will be able to:

• Apply developmentally appropriate and inclusive practices in childcare settings.
• Demonstrate professional skills and knowledge necessary for effective childcare provision.

Earning Criteria

To earn this certificate, enrollees must:

• Complete a TB test and Criminal Background Check.
• Successfully complete the following courses:
  • ECED 252 – Foundations of Early Childhood
  • ECED 353 – Inclusive Practices for Young Children
