For a full-time junior or senior student majoring in Biology with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a focus on medicine or health related studies.
About the Benefactor: Dr. Ann Rock
Dr. Ann Rock was born and raised in Superior, WI, attended Cathedral High School, and graduated magna cum laude from UW-Superior. She attended medical school in Madison, earning a MD in 1975. In 1982, Dr. Rock became the first female Ob-Gyn in the Twin Ports (Duluth, MN/Superior, WI area) when she joined the East End Clinic. Later, she moved to the Superior Clinic and Northland Ob-Gyn Associates, she was instrumental in hiring more female Ob-Gyn physicians to her practice. She eventually retired from her practice in 2009.
She maintains her passion for her medical career and her great love for music. In grade school she learned to play piano and never lost her appreciation for it. She has established and endowed multiple funds at UW-Superior to support future students and to continue her legacy.

Current students: Near the beginning of each calendar year, you will receive notification to your UW-Superior email account when it is time to apply for Foundation scholarships and how to do so. Applications usually open at the beginning of February and close at the beginning of March. Scholarships are awarded for the following academic year, beginning with the fall semester.
