For a student that has unmet financial need in an academic year, has at least a 2.0 GPA, and has submitted a 1-2 page essay that covers the student’s strong unmet financial need, their cultural identity/connection/background, their importance of getting an education, the on-campus extra-curricular activities they participate in including why they participate in those activities, and how their culture connects them to things such as communities, families, education, and preserving tradition. The student must be involved with on-campus activities of and/or be involved in the office of the Indigenous Cultures Resource Center, and/or provide proof of enrollment in a federally recognized Native American tribe. Makes one award each academic year.
Current students: Near the beginning of each calendar year, you will receive notification to your UW-Superior email account when it is time to apply for Foundation scholarships and how to do so. Applications usually open at the beginning of February and close at the beginning of March. Scholarships are awarded for the following academic year, beginning with the fall semester. Some scholarships, usually related to study abroad/away, always accept applications. See the Foundation scholarship process information page for details on how to apply.
