Music Department to host Ragtime Rendezvous with pianist Daniel Rottenberg

The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will host Ragtime Rendezvous with pianist Daniel Rottenberg on Saturday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Webb Recital Hall.

Known for his energetic ragtime and stride arrangements, Rottenberg has played in establishments such as Volstead’s Emporium in Uptown Minneapolis, the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver and the Diamond Belle Saloon in Durango, Colorado’s Strater Hotel over the last 18 years. He has performed at the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival in Sedalia, Missouri, the Durango Ragtime Festival, the Evergreen Jazz Festival, the Summit Jazz Festival, the Cedar Basin Jazz Festival, and the Old-Time Piano World Championships.

Rottenberg now plays piano in Minneapolis at Nucky’s Speakeasy and Shakopee House, among others.
