The University of Wisconsin-Superior and Yellowjacket Athletics are excited to announce that construction on Superior Choice Credit Union Stadium on the UW-Superior campus is set to begin.

The public will see construction crews and vehicles on campus beginning Monday, April 15, with initial work concentrating on the parking areas and green space near Crownhart Hall. The work will focus primarily on site preparation and utility installations. Crews will begin preparation of the site for excavation in April, with the facility anticipated to be ready for competition in September 2024.

A formal groundbreaking ceremony for the $7.1 million project will be held Thursday, April 25.

Superior Choice Credit Union Stadium will serve as the home for the UW-Superior men’s and women’s soccer teams as well as the men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams. The facility will feature a regulation turf playing surface surrounded by a nine-lane track along with grandstand and press facilities.

Currently, UW-Superior is undergoing a fundraising campaign for additional stadium amenities. The campaign includes an initiative to name the track in honor of UW-Superior alumnus and local running legend Dan Conway, as well as the creation of a facility donor wall.
