The University of Wisconsin-Superior’s Black Alumni Speakers Series will begin with Janet Kennedy and Carmen Watson on Monday, February 10, at 3 p.m. in the William “Pope” Wright Student Center. This event, held as part of UW-Superior’s Black History Month celebrations, is free and open to the community.
A 2018 graduate, Kennedy is the owner of Development Alliances and Solutions and president of the Duluth City Council.
Watson, a 2016 graduate, is the mentoring and engagement program coordinator in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Minnesota Duluth and a board member for Community Action Duluth.
The event will begin with stories from each graduate followed by a question-and-answer format.
Hosted by UW-Superior’s Black Student Union (BSU), Department of Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity, and Alumni & Friends Foundation, the Black Alumni Speaker Series will continue Monday, February 24, with Marquise Slay and Keith Turner.
