The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will present senior lecturer Rachael Kresha in recital on Tuesday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King. The performance is part of the University Recital Series.
Titled Shadowlands: A Sonic Exploration of the Tension Between Truth and Fantasy, the program will feature works by Charles-Marie Widor, Olivier Messiaen, Louis Vierne, Franz Liszt, Taylor Swift, John Powell, Yann Tiersen and Hans Zimmer. Kresha will perform on the Sebastian Gluck pipe organ at the Cathedral of Christ the King.
Kresha earned her Associate of Arts degree from Cottey College, a Bachelor of Music in organ performance from UW-Superior and a Master of Music in organ performance from Emory University. She also received a grant to study at the McGill Organ Summer Academy in Montreal.
An active recitalist, collaborative artist and private instructor in the Twin Ports area, Kresha has performed internationally as a soloist and has appeared with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra and the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra.
Kresha serves as organist at the Cathedral of Christ the King and teaches organ at UW-Superior.
