Your Support Matters to Lindsey

Lindsey Jalivay ’21, Communicating Arts

Lindsey standing in front of campus building

“Foundation scholarships mean a lot to me because after the challenges I faced due to COVID-19, I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to fulfill my dream of attending graduate school. Being awarded this scholarship has motivated me to continue working toward my goals.

It’s also motivated me to pursue my dream of helping others with their struggles so they can achieve their dreams no matter what challenges they may face. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to expand my knowledge and pursue my dreams.”

Advancing Academic Research and Infrastructure

From out on the waters of Lake Superior to in the lab on campus, undergraduate research takes Yellowjackets to incredible places. The benefits of undergraduate research are undeniable, providing critical thinking, collaboration in the workplace and transferable skills to career interests.

Contributions to the Foundation support these extraordinary opportunities for students, including the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF). SURF is a chance for students to spend the summer working on a research project with the support of a facility mentor.

The Sadie Anne

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new state-of-the-art hybrid research vessel. The Superior Floating Classroom, Sadie Ann, is currently being constructed in Harvey, LA.

A partnership between the Foundation and the Lake Superior Research Institute (LSRI), the Superior Floating Classroom will serve our students and campus with hands-on learning on Lake Superior. It will also provide educational opportunities for K-12 students and citizens of all ages.

Superior Choice Credit Union Stadium Rendering

A Rewarding Student-Athlete Experience

Breaking ground is anticipated in Spring 2024 for the Superior Choice Credit Union Stadium, UW-Superior’s new soccer and track & field stadium. The new stadium will be located behind the resident halls between Catlin Avenue and Mertz Mortorelli Drive

We are excited to be able to offer our Yellowjackets athletes and spectators with a much-needed new athletic facility. The stadium will also help the university serve the greater Superior community, youth sports and recreation in the Twin Ports.
