AI Tools and Research: Workflows and Evaluation in the Library and Beyond
This interactive session will introduce library AI tools; attend to query building with GenAI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft CoPilot; and examine strategies and workflows for literature and citation searches and summaries.
It will help participants answer these questions: What AI Tools are enabled in various library systems? Can AI help with citation discovery? How Can AI Tools like ChatGPT be used with library resources?
Open to UWS Faculty, Staff, and Students; Community members are also welcome to attend in-person.
Participants will leave the session able to:
Construct and analyze search strings using Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT.
Incorporate select Library AI and other Generative AI Tools into research workflows.
Identify additional Generative AI tools that may additionally support research workflows.
Understand aspects of publication and vendor licensing and rights restrictions as they apply to the use of Generative AI tools in select research workflows.
