Overview

Sports management is where a student’s passion for sports meets human organizational and real business needs. From youth athletics to professional teams, a successful sports organization needs people with diverse skill sets across several academic areas.

Many students choose to pair the sports management minor with majors like business, communications, psychology, or exercise science.

What You’ll Learn

With a sports management minor at UW-Superior, students learn business fundamentals, sports psychology and theory, and human organization through athletics and human performance. Students may also choose from a selection of legal and communications electives that align with their career interests in sports. Classroom knowledge becomes real-world experience through on-campus learning and internships.

While not required, students are encouraged to complete a semester-long internship.

Career Opportunities

Students with a sports management minor are career-ready upon graduation. They are also equipped to continue their education with a master’s degree in sports management, which is considered the entry-level degree for some careers in the field.
