Time: 5 – 7 p.m.

Location: Lake Superior Estuarium – Confluence Room,  3 Marina Dr, Superior, WI 

This is the second class focused on herbal plan ID and medicine making. The first was along the Millennium Trail and this one is on Barker’s Island, where we will meet a different a herbal helper. We will go for a walk and learn where and when to spot it, and characteristics that help identify it. After foraging, we’ll learn the plant’s herbal actions, what ailments to use it for, responsible harvesting, and making some medicine with the plant to take home. (If you are unable to do the walk portion of class, samples will be available in the classroom as well.)

No experience is necessary and walk will be along a flat surface. 

Our teacher Lara Fahnlander is a certificated herbalist, studying under Master Herbalist Lise Wolff, Chanchal Cabrera, Jim McDonald, Rosemary Gladstar and more.
