TYPE

The University of Wisconsin-Superior Alumni & Friends Foundation invites the community to its fall fundraising event, a Superior Soirée: Connecting Community & Campus on Saturday, October 12, in the Yellowjacket Union Great Room on the UW-Superior campus. The fun, semi-formal event will include dining, dancing, a silent auction, raffles and more.

The evening will start with a social hour at 5 p.m. featuring a cash bar, hors d’ oeuvres, silent auction items on display and raffle tickets on sale.

At 6 p.m., dinner and program will begin. The menu will include salad, a duet plate with tenderloin and salmon cakes, dessert and more. A vegan option is also available.

The event will also feature the 2024 Alumni & Friends Awards Ceremony. This year’s honorees are:

  • Distinguished Alumni Award: Dr. Carolyn Anderson, ’85
  • Recent Alumni (Jacket GOLD) Award: Jennifer Gravrok, ’15
  • Honorary Alumni Award: Krisi (KP) Patterson
  • James Rainaldo Outstanding Mentor Award: Dr. Mary Balcer, ’77
  • Ed & Betty Kossak Service Award: John McNeil, ’67

The evening will continue with a DJ and dancing, as well as a cash bar, on the lower level of the Yellowjacket Union.

Tickets are $65 for individuals and $350 for tables of six, and proceeds will benefit both students and alumni. To learn more and purchase tickets, visit uwsuper.edu/Soiree.

The silent auction will feature a variety of items and will be available both on-site and online. Bidding at the event will require a mobile device. The auction will open online on October 3 and end on the evening of October 12.

The UW-Superior Alumni Association and UW-Superior Foundation unified on July 1, 2024, becoming the UW-Superior Alumni & Friends Foundation. As one organization and board of directors, the Alumni & Friends Foundation has strengthened its friend-raising and fundraising enterprises to parallel the aspirational success of the university. Together, and with the support of alumni and the community, they continue to do great work for the benefit of all Yellowjackets.
