UW-Superior’s Center for Research and Evaluation Services currently gathering information on Douglas County Fairgrounds usage

The Center for Research and Evaluation at the University of Wisconsin-Superior is currently conducting numerous surveys regarding the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

The survey, which take less than five minutes to complete, varies for Douglas County residents, local businesses and participants at the fairgrounds.

Questions about the fairgrounds include how residents utilize the space, what events they attend and what additions or changes they would like to see there. Residents who do not utilize the fairgrounds are also invited to take the survey. There is also a separate survey for business in that area of Superior.

The research project, which began in February, examines how the fairground is currently being used, its economic impact and what county residents would like to see happen at the fairgrounds. When sufficient information is collected, the center will look at other models in similar counties and make recommendations. This information will then be presented to the Douglas County board in October.

As an applied research center focused on serving the community, UW-Superior’s Center for Research and Evaluation Services provides critical resources for local businesses, nonprofits and public institutions across Lake Superior’s southern shore and beyond.

This center will provide professional fee-for-service research to organizations within the region. The center is revenue-neutral, with all fees for service ensuring the operations of the center. Initial research services will include data collection and analysis, program assessment and evaluation, and process facilitation.

Research services include both primary and secondary data collection and analysis. Examples include surveys of internal and external client stakeholders, focus groups, market analysis, and data collection and analyses for grant submissions.
