Program Overview
UW-Superior is an ideal place to prepare for graduate study in medicine and health professions. Small class sizes allow you to get to know your professors and receive personalized attention. Faculty are well-connected and knowledgeable and will help you prepare and optimize your application for graduate programs. UW-Superior also offers research and experiential learning opportunities often found only at much larger institutions.
Students who plan to go to medical school or a health professional program commonly major in biology or chemistry. Pre-Medicine/Pre-Health Professions will help you ensure that you complete course requirements and experiences needed for grad school entrance exams and applications.
What You’ll Learn
Build the scientific knowledge, research experience and professional skills needed to pursue graduate study in medicine and the health professions. You’ll complete the foundational coursework required for many professional programs while tailoring your education to your specific healthcare interests.
You’ll gain practical skills in:

Through hands-on laboratory experiences, faculty mentorship and opportunities for internships and volunteer work, you’ll strengthen your preparation for graduate and professional programs. You can also customize your coursework to align with your goals in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy, veterinary medicine and many other health professions.
I chose to attend UW-Superior for its wonderful biology pre-med program, which has been everything I have wanted. The professors have gone above and beyond to make sure that I succeed in my program and that I am set up for med school after receiving my bachelor”s degree. In a small school, you are not just a number, you will have a personal connection with your professors.
Living on campus has allowed me to get to know and build connections with a wide variety of people. I’ve met some of my best friends through living on the same floor/being roommates and it is something I will forever be grateful for. With the residence halls being so close to campus, it makes it easier to take advantage of all the fun events, too.
