Overview
The marketing program at UW-Superior is one of the five concentration options for the business administration major and is also available as a minor. Marketers help businesses understand, analyze, and meet the needs of their consumers. Strategic planning and decision-making in business require knowledge of the competitive market and an understanding of consumer behavior. As a marketing student, you will combine creative problem-solving with research to execute a strategy.
Our curriculum has been developed by experienced faculty and in consultation with an advisory council composed of local business leaders who share their expertise and connections to identify and secure opportunities for students.
What You’ll Learn
In this program, you will learn how to create marketing plans, measurements of success, and assess results. All students will learn marketing principles and consumer behavior. You will take courses in digital marketing, marketing strategy, brand management, and market research, which are also available as electives to marketing minors. Additionally, you will be able to customize your studies to meet specific interests and goals with a choice of elective courses including:
- Public Relations
- Retail Marketing
- Advertising and Promotion
- Relationship Marketing and Sales Management
- Supply Chain Management
One of the best aspects of the business program is the professors. Any time you have a question they are always willing to help and to talk to students after class. I also find the academic advisors very helpful. They make it easy to know what classes you need to take in order to be on the path for graduation.
