The Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents Business Partnership Award was recently presented to National Bank of Commerce. The award was presented Oct. 8 in the Yellowjacket Union Great Room on the University of Wisconsin-Superior campus during the Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents meeting. Accepting the award on behalf of National Bank of Commerce were Brad Roden, CEO; Jeremy Egnash, CFO; and Eric Albrecht, president.
“National Bank of Commerce has had a longstanding relationship with UW-Superior,” said Roden. “The university itself brings with it a sense of strength, energy and vitality, not only to Superior but to the greater region. We’re glad to offer our continued support of the university and its students.”
The Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents Business Partnership Award recognizes businesses that positively impact Wisconsin through their generosity and collaboration with the Universities of Wisconsin.
“For the last several years, the Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents has presented the Business Partnership Award to businesses across Wisconsin that support and inspire our universities,” said Regent President Kyle Weatherly. “The goal is to illustrate how critical our business partners are to our success and highlight the collaboration between universities and local businesses that benefits students and communities. It’s a pleasure to continue this tradition by honoring National Bank of Commerce and its partnership with UW-Superior.”
National Bank of Commerce has made a meaningful impact on UW-Superior students and the university through internships, career opportunities for graduates, financial support of key initiatives and dedicated service on advisory councils.
“Their commitment goes beyond philanthropy,” said Weatherly. “They also help shape student success, strengthen our institutions and build a brighter future for the communities we serve.”
National Bank of Commerce has created valuable opportunities for UW-Superior students through internships and hands-on learning experiences that connect classroom knowledge with real-world application. In addition, the bank has served as an important employer of UW-Superior graduates, helping them launch successful careers in the community.
“National Bank of Commerce has been a steadfast partner of UW-Superior, demonstrating a deep commitment to our students, institution and region,” said UW-Superior Interim Chancellor Maria Cuzzo. “Through its leadership and service, National Bank of Commerce has helped strengthen our academic programs by serving on our School of Business and Economics Advisory Council and providing an invaluable employer perspective that ensures our students are prepared to meet workforce needs.”
Beyond its direct support of students, National Bank of Commerce has invested in transformational projects at UW-Superior that benefit the region, including becoming the naming rights partner for the future National Bank of Commerce Park, which will serve as home to Yellowjackets baseball and softball. The bank also helped create the National Bank of Commerce Climbing Wall in the Marcovich Wellness Center, which provides recreation and wellness opportunities for students, youth and community members.
“These investments reflect National Bank of Commerce’s enduring commitment to expanding opportunities on our campus and strengthening the communities we serve,” said Cuzzo. “National Bank of Commerce exemplifies what a true university partner can be. Its investment in education, student success, athletics and community development has made a lasting difference, and we are deeply grateful for its partnership.”
