What We Test For

Bacteria Testing

Screens water for coliforms as a general indicator of contamination and E. coli as a sign of fecal pollution and elevated health risks. Learn more

How It Works

1. Order Tests

Select one or more tests through our website, or place an order in person when picking up bottles.

2. Get Bottles

Collection bottles are available for pickup during business hours.

3. Collect Samples

Use the provided instructions to collect your water sample accurately and safely.

4. Drop off Samples

Samples can be dropped off at our designated location on the UW–Superior campus. Please note that all samples must be delivered within their specified holding times.

5. Receive Results

Once analysis is complete, you will receive a detailed report by email or mail.

Our Lab

The Lake Superior Research Institute Water Services Center is located on the University of Wisconsin–Superior campus and provides reliable water analysis for individuals, organizations and communities. Our certified laboratory supports both environmental research and real-world testing services while offering UW-Superior students valuable hands-on laboratory experience.

Our Location

We are conveniently located on the University of Wisconsin Superior Campus. Sample kits may be picked up and samples may be dropped off in the basement of Barstow Hall.
