2026 Grad Walk

Yellowjacket Great Room | Fall ’25, Spring ’26 & Summer ’26 Grads

The Grad Walk will take place Saturday, December 5th from 10:00AM- 12:00PM in the Yellowjacket Great Room. Students will receive email communication about the sign up to walk, regalia and other details in mid October.

Please note – the Grad Walk is NOT a full ceremony, it is a photo opportunity event. Students/guests will not be seated, they will move through the photo line then depart the area once the student has walked the stage.

Grad Walk vs. Commencement

Commencement is the spring ceremony that recognizes academic achievements with a full traditional ceremony; the Grad Walk is for fall graduates who are unable to attend the spring ceremony.

When is Commencement?

UW-Superior hosts one commencement ceremony per academic year each May. Fall, spring and summer graduates for that academic year are invited to participate. Fall graduates have the option to participate in the ceremony the May following their December graduation, or the Grad Walk.

When is the Grad Walk?

The Grad Walk takes place in December. The event will focus on allowing fall graduates who are unable to attend the spring ceremony, an experience similar to that of a traditional ceremony. Students will wear their regalia, walk across the stage, have their name read, and the Chancellor will hand them their diploma tube and pose for a picture with them. Master’s students will have the opportunity to be hooded as well.
